Vaccines Coming Back to Los Angeles

So excited, The Vaccines are scheduled to play an all ages show at the Music Box on September 13.  Tickets will probably go quickly, so if I were you, I would click here and handle it.  Openers will be the retro pop band, Tennis... check back in a few for some of their sounds.  In the meantime,  here's The Vaccines' Norgaard.

Global

I heard these guys for the first time in 2010, and after listening to a few songs, I had a pretty good feeling that this rock and roll band from the UK was already well on its way to becoming a global sensation.  After seeing them back in February in Silverlake, I became absolutely convinced that I wasn't unconsciously exaggerating how good they are.  Apparently I am not the only one they have been impressing.  The Vaccines officially got together just one year ago, and since the band's formation, NME has already hyped them as the band to watch this year, and their debut What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? debuted #4 in the UK. Anyways, they are touring from now just about every day through November of this year, from Portugal to Iceland, the US to Australia, including Lollapalooza and Outside Lands,  a tour of over 20 shows in the UK.  Unfortunately, no Los Angeles dates yet, but  Check out their site, www.thevaccines.co.uk for updates and added shows.  Other tracks to be sure to check: Norgaard, If You Wanna

Summer Sounds

Couldn't help myself.

Satan Sounds Like Summer

Picking a song to post from Portugal. The Man's latest release, The Satanic Satanist, has become a draw of straws, since it's easily the catchiest (and I'm a sucker for a war protest song), People Say is what you're going to hear.  The sounds swirl and flow into your brain like one of those intoxicating summer days, and while every song on this album will leave you wanting more, be sure to check out All My People, Everyone is Golden, and 60 Years.

She's a Rattlesnake & They Say He's Insane

If you're craving more blues,  be stoked right now, 'cause if you're lucky enough to be on the East Coast this summer, JJ Grey and Mofro will be playing from June 29, all the way through August.  Check out the tour dates here

Blues, Baby

Texan guitarist Gary Clark, Jr. exploded onto the scene when he debuted his funky, soulful style at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival last summer.
